Leading fruit, nut, and seed supplier John Morley Group is at the forefront of delivering a pioneering new weight management product set to change the face of breakfast food.

An agreement with OptiBiotix Health grants John Morley the exclusive licence to manufacture and supply the ground-breaking SlimBiome weight management technology in muesli packs within the UK.

SlimBiome, a patented combination of natural ingredients, developed by experts to provide hunger free weight loss, recently won the award for Weight Management Ingredient of the Year at the Vitafoods European trade show.

Simon Brown, managing director of John Morley Group, supplier of high quality ingredients to breakfast cereal and food manufacturers including major retailers and many global consumer food brands, is delighted to be welcoming in a new era in breakfast products.

“It’s an exciting development,” says Simon, “something that nobody else has done previously – a range of great-tasting mueslis for people looking at weight management.

“Mueslis are healthy anyway, but now we’re creating a muesli-plus, something that will help people control those mid-morning snacking urges by making them feel fuller for longer. Not only that but SlimBiome, as a prebiotic, is good for healthy gut bacteria.”

John Morley will now exclusively promote and expand the supply of SlimBiome in muesli packs as well as potentially producing its own commercial SlimBiome products.

“We’re looking at launching single serving muesli pots,” explains Simon, “but there will also be the standard bagged format as well.

“We are very hopeful that this is something new for breakfast. An innovation such as this can really boost the market.

“We are delighted to be working with OptiBiotix and taking our relationship forward in new and exciting ways.”

The development of muesli breakfast products allows OptiBiotix to extend its GoFigure range of online products and create ‘health and wellbeing’ own label brands for supermarkets within the UK.

OptiBiotix CEO Stephen O’Hara said: “We chose Morleys due to their reputation as one of the UK’s leading suppliers of specialist ingredients and the energy and passion they have shown in developing a wide range of muesli products containing SlimBiome over the last six months.

“We believe working with Morleys, and similar partners around the world, provides the best opportunity of meeting the requirements of major retailers and global brands who are looking to develop healthy products to meet growing consumer demand.”
